As with logo and brand identity design, every website is different and will require a different approach. Some websites will need different features to others, and will be on a much larger scale. All of these factors will affect the cost of building and designing the website.
The only thing I can really say without knowing more about a project is that a simple CMS (content management system) website demonstrating the services you offer and a portfolio of work will cost in the region of £550-£750.
In short, no. This essentially falls under the crowdsourcing label and it’s something I do not believe in (you can read why crowdsourcing is a bad idea here). Whenever you hire a designer, or any professional, there is always an element of trust involved from both parties.
Have a look through my portfolio and have a look at my previous work, if you like the look of it then trust that I will design something equally as good for you. I’m yet to have a client that wasn’t satisfied with the level of service I’ve provided.
It’s impossible to give an answer without knowing more about an individual project. Generally a basic website will take between 1-2 weeks (assuming all of the content and imagery has been sourced) whilst a more complex site could take up to 2 months.
A simple logo mark could take anything from a week through to a month, depending on the budget of the project, size of the company etc.
Most projects will take a minimum of 2-3 weeks to complete.
Once you’ve made your first enquiry, either by email (email@example.com) or via my contact page and I will be in touch to answer any questions and to find out more about the project.
Whether you want to correspond via phone, email or meet face to face is absolutely up to you.
Once I know more about the project I will send a quote for you to review along with a contract and I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding either.
After the contract is signed I will send an invoice for the 50% deposit and work will commence upon receipt of payment.
Throughout the duration of the project I will keep you up to date with the progression of the project so you know it’s going along the right lines.
Once the project is completed and you’re happy with the end result I will send you an invoice for the remaining 50% of the balance and upon receipt of payment I will email across all of the necessary artwork.
At this point you can then go and enjoy your lovely new logo, website or other design material. You can even leave me a testimonial if you want!
Like many designers I require a deposit of 50% up-front to book my time for projects and the remaining 50% upon completion, at which point I will transfer over all of the required artwork. I accept payment via bank transfer, or for international clients via PayPal.
